Judah Brown (HE/HIM) is a dramatist-dramaturg, composer, performer, and interdisciplinary student based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Judah is the creator of Feathered, a full-length musical and reimagining of the myth of Icarus, exploring themes of identity, fate, family, belonging, and the courage to chart one’s own path. His first full musical, Feathered, made its world premiere in Tulsa on August 7th, 2025. Prior to the premiere, Judah’s song “Fool” from the musical was performed off-Broadway as a winner of the National Endowment for the Arts and National Alliance for Musical Theatre’s Musical Theatre Songwriting Challenge.
A lifelong musician, Judah works across a wide range of styles, including orchestral, electronic, pop, and modern musical theatre. His theatre journey began in middle school with a community production of Oliver!, where he discovered a passion for storytelling through both performance and composition—and found a profound sense of home and chosen family in the theatre community.
Judah believes theatre, especially when combined with music, is a uniquely powerful medium that merges countless art forms to tell stories that are universal, beautiful, and deeply human. He embraces innovative approaches in both composition and theatre, continually exploring fresh ways to push creative boundaries and craft meaningful experiences. Judah is committed to an inclusive, diverse, and equitable approach to the theatre, often writing from personal experience and drawing inspiration from stories and artists who challenge the status quo. He hopes his music and lyrics offer a space where outsiders and dreamers can see their stories reflected.
A multi-instrumentalist, Judah plays piano, violin, viola, and guitar, and also sings. In addition to his musical pursuits, he has a strong interest in web development and computer science, frequently exploring ways to integrate music, theatre, and technology in his work. Judah hopes to continue fostering a culture of collaboration, chosen family, and belonging in all his creative projects.
