Feathered is a musical retelling of the myth of Icarus that explores fate, flight, love, and courage.

Trapped in a tower alongside his father, Daedalus, Icarus longs for freedom beyond the walls of his prison. But Daedalus, scarred by the past, warns his son never to fly and risk the wrath of fate.

Yet Icarus has formed an unlikely friendship with Apollo, the god of the sun, and together they dream of escaping the tower and taking to the skies.

As their plan unfolds, the myths of the past begin to echo around them. The stories of Phaethon and Helle serve as haunting warnings: to fly too high or too low is fatal.

When these myths spiral toward tragedy once again, Icarus must confront his own doubt and decide whether he will follow the path of myth—or break the cycle and fly.

An original adaptation of the classical novel, devised at Clark Youth Theatre.

WILDELY IN LOVE: A MUSICAL

A work-in-progress musical “adapto-biography” that retells the classic The Importance of Being Earnest as the story of its own eccentric playwright.

Oscar Fingal O’Fflahertie Wills Wilde, in his own story… well, not so much in his own words.

A MONSTER CALLS (UNDERSCORING)

A MONSTER CALLS (Underscoring)

A Monster Calls is a play based on the novel by the same name, both written by Patrick Ness. In Spring 2025, I had the opportunity to underscore/music direct my theatre’s production of this play of love and loss. This included composing for a small set of instruments, such as piano, violin, and double bass, writing minimal vocal parts, and arranging said parts in a DAW for live performance. Additionally, I was responsible for the sound design of the show, including an array of soundscapes, sequences, and sound effects.

LOST GIRL (UNDERSCORING)

Lost Girl (Underscoring)

In Summer 2025, I composed and performed underscoring for Clark Youth Theatre’s production of Lost Girl by Kimberly Bellflower. This production ran limited performances in Tulsa before being taken to AACT’s YouthFest 2025, where it won an award for Best Composition.

HOLDING ON TO HOPE: A PANDORA PLAY

In a poetic reimagining of the Pandora myth, Holding on to Hope explores the human struggle between curiosity, consequence, and resilience. When Pandora is gifted a mysterious box and warned never to open it, she must wrestle with divine commands, her own desire for truth, and the societal roles imposed upon her. As the spirits of Doubt, Plague, and Hope emerge, the play becomes a lyrical meditation on the power of femininity, the cost of knowledge, and the enduring necessity of hope in the face of chaos.

HOW THE STARS FALL (AND RISE AGAIN)

How the Stars Fall (And Rise Again) reimagines the myth of Andromeda through a short play. While inspired by classical sources, this version departs from the traditional telling in order to explore themes of hubris, beauty, and power. In many versions of the myth, Andromeda is a passive figure, sacrificed to appease the wrath of Poseidon. This adaptation instead centers her agency. Through the voices of the Stars (those who have suffered before her) Andromeda learns that divine power is sustained not by inevitability, but by belief. When that belief is withdrawn, even the gods may falter.

JOURNEYS: THE MUSICAL

When you lose yourself, who will you become? In this musical comedy adventure, Tara sets out on a journey through the woods to the dismay of her parents, set on finding adventure. However, when she uncovers secrets of her village’s past, things begin to go awry. Faced with the truth of her daughter’s rebellion, Tara’s mom, Maia, must decide if she will stand her ground and risk losing her daughter, or come alongside and embrace her daughter to face the world together.

At its core, Journeys is one of my long-term passion projects. While I am excited to continue working on this piece, my journey itself has only begun, and I am not yet sure how the story continues. I can only hope to write the story I want to live…
